From Baby to Tweens Bedroom Inspirations
I'm going to start this post with a question.......
Seems like only moments have past but really I look at the calender and it's telling me it's not just a couple of days it is actually nearer a couple of weeks so I have to ask where did it go. Is this an age thing??? Perhaps.
Now I have to be honest here, I have been busy. Creating new bedding, boudoir pillows and a new slant on personalised quilts, which I am rather excited about.
I have been doing heaps of research of late into the modern day nursery and kids bedrooms and really rather like the colour that is filtering into babies rooms. From strong blues and red to all the muted softness of pastels. I have decided that my favourite interior designer has to be Sarah Richardson and her team from Canada- absolutely fabulous - her choice of subtle hues and gentle tones makes me wish I could go back some 30 years and incorporate some of the ideas she puts forth. I love the clean and crisp feel of whites, always have, but would no sooner of ever think of teaming it up with greys or greens, soft taupe's, blues and chocolate, but Sarah does it with ease and finesse and the end result is beautiful. The other thing I noted was the trend into coloured cots. Now when my babies were babies the thought of painting their cots in bright colours or just painting them period, would have worried me no end, they seemed, all 3 of them, to find chewing on the rails a great relief when teething. Thus teeth marks would be evident in the painted cot. Not particularly aesthetically pleasing no matter how cute it seemed.
I love the pop of colour that the chair gives this room.
This is one of my favourites Chocolate and Taupe work beautifully with soft muted Blues.
I can be very girlie girl and run riot with Pink at times but it is just divine paired with greys and creams.
And who wouldn't like this room with it's lilacs, tans and creams....mmm
Stronger colours with deep pinks above and reds below gorgeous
Well as I said before I have been busy so here are just a couple of items done while I have been absent
Personalised Cot Quilt
Flanged Personalised Boudoir Pillow
and of cause some more sheet sets with vintage embroidery
So you see I have been just a tad busy. So.... what do you think? Would you give your stained wood or white cot the ole heave ho and make the change to colour?
Til next time
Lonnie
